Unitree's G1 is the open-store humanoid — the smaller sibling to H1, available today through Unitree's own webshop without a sales gate. The base configuration is the lowest-priced humanoid in actual market circulation; the EDU variant adds joints, knee torque, waist DoF, and arm payload for research workloads.
Mechanical posture: short stature, low mass, and a foldable form factor make G1 the practical lab humanoid rather than the warehouse fleet member. Knee joint torque on the EDU bumps versus the standard build; arm payload climbs modestly.
Honest caveat: the published walking speed is a vendor-quoted maximum from third-party reviews, not the official product page's spec table. Onboard compute is configurable per build and not pinned to a single SKU.
